Soulfood
I hate how I only feel the urge to blog when I'm feeling particularly melancholy or pensieve- and I'm prone to using big words like melancholy and pensieve.
Whatever. Things are going by way too fast here. It's already March! What have I been doing with myself? There's this sick feeling in my stomach that I am destined to become a workaholic once my career kicks off. I know I've always been ambitious-(borderlining on obsessive maybe) but I'm starting to actually think about going into investment banking. It's a horrifying thought, slaving away my life for money. But I've been doing a lot of research, mainly for my whole application thing now, and it's somehow becoming more and more appealing. The investmant banking I'm referring to is trading of course, the riskier version of corporate finance. I just don't think I really cut out for marketing at the moment honestly, I think I'm more suited for something a little, less creative?
Weather here has been beyond weird. Sun shining alternating with snow storms. Just when I wanted to go out and play in the snow, it stops and the sun shines again. Much to macha's happiness, who was being a grumpy scrooge and wanted to stay in.
Oh, macha took me to Nando's yesterday night. I hardly eat Nando's at home and I come all the way here to eat it. I saw a huge sign outside the restaurant that said 2 for 1 meals for students on Monday nights.
"Hey, did you know it was buy 1 meal and get another free today?"
"Erm, no.....no I didn't know.."
Me--> -_- "My ass.."
I was well hungry so I insisted on a half a chicken which didn't sound big at all.
"I want half!"
"You know you're not going to finish it."
"I will, I'm starving.."
And half an hour later,
"Told you, you weren't gonna finish it."
"Shut up..." *Packs half the chicken in doggy bag*
We are exactly NOWHERE for our context presentation. We're screwed. Our meetings involve ordering pizza, watching TV and playing Playstation- damn unproductive. DIE.
Oh, today is PANCAKE DAY. About a week ago we made pancakes for fun and they turned out really nice. Today wasn't very good. It was basically us girls, armed with a Nigella Lawson recipe and the boys with a ready made batter mix. Nigella is a little chunky for a reason, her recipe had too much butter in it that our pancakes couldn't cook properly and were all greasy. We just watched as the guys gobbled down theirs with envy. Pancake Day was such a dissapointment.
Alritey, off to bed. An ungodly 8.15 tomorrow.
