The Little Things
It's a beautiful day today. Sun shining, birds chirping kinda day. Don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that Sarah has left. Ahem. Anyway, you know it's gonna be a good day here by the weather. The past few days have been rainy and quite honestly miserable, and it didn't help much I had my damned coursework to finish. But on Thursday we handed it in and now it's all done! Am now FREE from work! I can just concentrate on studying for my Law and OB tests in peace without any other work in the way. :)
Went out to Funky Guppy last night and Jenny next door introduced me to her coursemate Leon- who happens to be half English and half Malaysian Chinese! Haha. Was so fun being able to talk to someone about home, especially since he had just spent 5 weeks of his summer in KL and Subang. That makes it 2 half Malaysian connections here.
And I also just found that there's actually a Malay guy staying in Eastwood 2. Weird. But it's so funny how Asians get so excited about meeting other Asians here. One thing I guess is that we won't have to deal with such questions, "Do you have Play Station in Malaysia?" (circa first week of uni, asked by Ian).We have this housekeeper here who who tends to talk slowly to me everytime she comes in to drop the post and etc. As in, " Would-you-like-to-have-your-room-cleaned?", and she pronounces every word slowly as if I won't understand her. She had the funniest expression on her face when I replied in PERFECT English. The funniest though was when I was hanging out in Eastwood 2's kitchen and she came in to give their post,
Boy Next Door: God, it's well cold outside.
Housekeeper lady: Well-that's-because-it's-so-much-warmer-where-you-come-from-dear.
Boy Next Door: ...I'm from London, luv.
Housekeeper lady: Oh!
I laughed till my stomach hurt.
